I have a serious dark circle problem. I used to try and combat them by doubling up on precious Z’s, until a makeup artist was kind enough to inform me that my problem had less to do with rest and more to do with genetics. (So, yeah, thanks for that Mom.) Needless to say, as soon as I discovered that the likelihood my little friends were going to disappear anytime soon was slim to not gonna happen, my focus quickly shifted toward concealers and cover-up.
It wasn’t until recently that I jumped back on board with trying to do something about them because (guess what?!) age also makes those babies more prominent. Score one more for the 34 year old in the back.
After some extensive research and product sampling (all in the name of science, I swear), these are the two products I turn to for the good, the bad and the man those are ugly:
- Clé de Peau Beauté’s Concealer – We had heard rumors about the magic that was Cle de Peau’s concealer, but at $70 a pop we decided that coffee was a better investment. But then we tried it. You guys, it’s good. Like really good. Like you don’t have to have an airbrush or a degree in the art of making people beautiful to use it. It truthfully is the best concealer we have ever tried. Period. It is creamy, absorbent and has the perfect coverage without being heavy. We don’t know how they did it, but it’s worth giving up a few extra Starbucks runs this month to keep it on our top shelf.
- Pixi by Petra Eye Zone Brightener – Under eye circles more of a chronic pain that a weekend annoyance? (Insert hand raising emoji here) Then it’s time to invest in a daily solution. Pixi by Petra’s Eye Zone Brightener is my daily wheatgrass shot for the under eye area. Trust me on this one. Over time, while my rings haven’t completely disappeared (remember that whole genetics convo above?) the improvement is significant.
