Talking Heirlooms with Jewelry Designer Beth Yorn

When we met up with jewelry designer Beth Yorn to shoot her TKC Profile, the first thing we noticed was her insane collection of heirloom jewelry. Suckers for pieces with a good story, we obviously needed the deets. And once we got to talking about it, some of her stories were so endearing and wonderful we couldn’t keep them to ourselves. Read on to hear about just a few of her family gems, and be sure to check out the Elisabeth Bell designer’s full TKC Profile (here).

“Most of the heirlooms I have were my mothers and grandmothers. My grandmother had a simple wedding band, while my mother had a Schlumberger band from Tiffany. That ultimately influenced me to get a wedding band by the same designer. I often study these heirlooms and gain inspiration from them when I’m designing a new collection. The craftsmanship in antique jewelry is unbelievable. And old mine cut stones are so gorgeous.

There is an Edwardian bracelet that was my grandmothers. I used to stare at it for hours. The old glowing garnets in it are mesmerizing!” – Beth Yorn
