If I’m being honest, I’ve never thought much about the shape of my lipstick. Primarily, because they all come in the same perfectly rounded oval tip that wears into an extra pointy nub of barely there and impossible to apply by the end. Anyone else?
There’s nothing like a tube well-loved.
So when I met with a friend at Clé de Peau Beauté and she presented me with their new line of lip color (only fourteen perfect shades, nothing extra or unnecessary – genius in and of itself) and pointed out their new new petal shaped tip, I was in awe.
Something other than oval? What was the point? Was this the future? I had to know everything.
So here’s the deal, after tons of research on shapes and the way we apply our lipstick, Clé de Peau Beauté perfected this new petal shape until it hugged lips perfectly, wore down perfectly and left you with continuously usable lipstick that applies like a dream. Sound too good to be true?
I don’t think it is. At first I thought it might just be pretty to look at and awkward to apply, but I have to admit it goes on like a dream. And while I have been wearing it nonstop, it has only been a few weeks so I’m not sure how it’s going to wear once my newly beloved Red Lantern reaches the end of the tube. But if it’s even remotely better than the aforementioned dragon nail I was left with previously, it will be an improvement.
Point being, I never thought I’d favor a lipstick because of it’s shape, but it’s happening. Of course, it helps that the shades are everything you’d ever need and the color has that Clé de Peau Beauté elegance to it when applied.
But, you know, the shape.
