I’m Already Over Winter

Finally. Winter.

It’s like we’ve been waiting patiently for the arrival of a friend we haven’t seen in a long time.  The kind of friend you can’t wait to see because it has been so long (like way too long) but who, without fail, manages to overstay her welcome after about a week of overbearing conversations and demanding plans.

True to form, we were collecting sweaterscoatsbeanies and other warm weather gear in preparation for the arrival of our long lost frigid friend.  We were begging her to hurry up and give us an excuse to break out the parkas we had been collecting all Fall long.

She arrived. We partied. Then this weekend she hit the temperature gage a little too hard, drug us down to seventeen degrees with her and left us saying enough is enough. Now that we’ve been hanging out with our cold weather friend for about a week or two and have managed to exhaust the full repertoire of our winter collection, the novelty has worn off and we’ve begun to remember why we wanted good ‘ol winter to hit the road last year

Right.  Because she’s frigid.

The only upside to this whole thing is that we are based in Texas and, inevitably, it’ll be 75 degrees tomorrow.

We went from a low of -3 degrees to 70 degrees by the end of the week…dropping into 40’s the next day. I’m OK with a mild winter…I have more trouble with inconsistent weather. I could adapt to the cold if it stayed around longer, but when it comes out of nowhere, then it’s more of a jolt of unpleasantness. Plus snow and ice in my area just shuts down everything.
