Three Ways to Contour in the Summer

When it comes to contour in the summer, less is most definitely more. As a general rule we advocate for as little on the face as possible come July and August (sunscreen, concealer and mascara is just about as much as we can handle), but if you can’t go a day without making your face look as chiseled as America’s Next Top Model, here are three ways to add a little definition without adding a lot of makeup.

  1. Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer & High Beam Highlight – Dust on Benefit’s Hoola Matte Bronzer across the chin, cheeks, and forehead for a healthy, natural-looking tan (no overworked shine or shimmer here). Combine it with Benefit’s High Beam satiny pink liquid highlighter under complexion products to accent cheek & brow bones for a dewy, radiant glow.
  2. Clinique’s Sculpting Highlight & Contour Chubby Sticks – Clinique’s Chubby Stick formula is long-wearing and oil-free, meaning it can be used on bare skin (see you in the Fall foundation!) to contour your face throughout the summer. Use the sculpting highlight to accentuate the top of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose and the sculpting contour to add contour to the hollow of your cheeks and along your jawline.
  3. Mai Couture Papiers – These are not only easy to apply (check out the photo instructions on the front cover) and light on your face, the biggest plus is that they are great for summer traveling. When your bronzer, blush and highlight are all disposable and unbreakable (who has time for broken powder?!), there’s no limit to where you can go.
