I’m not big on makeup. Never really was. Well, that’s not entirely true—I did go through an eyeliner and lip-gloss phase, but these days, I never really put anything on. Don’t get me wrong—I love the way I look with a bit of blush and thick black lashes—I’m just lazy AF and would rather not wear it than have to remove it before bed at night.
So for years I’ve gone without mascara. Yep, even though I absolutely love the way it looks.
But recently I learned of a solution: eyelash extensions (I’m way behind, I know). A few of my friends got them done and they look fucking fantastic. It’s like they’re wearing the world’s most flattering mascara without actually having to put any on.
No brainer, right?
Not so much.
I’m dying to do them—they last for weeks when done correctly—but the thought of all that maintenance is what’s getting me. Sure, I won’t have to take them off every night, but I’m having a hard time with the commitment. I’m just not comfortable with the idea of having to attend a monthly appointment that lasts for about an hour. I mean, I can’t even commit to a weekly manicure. My nails look like shit.
So what’s a girl to do? I can’t decide if it’s worth it. I love the way they look, and getting them done will solve my avoidance of mascara. BUT—will I end up maintaining them? Because from what I’ve seen, if you don’t maintain them, you end up looking really freaky when they start to really fall out.
I just don’t know what to do. Worth it or not?
Help me decide, will you?
