If you’ve been around for awhile, then you know that our Christmas tree is a bit of a tradition for me. When we buy it, when we put it up and, most importantly, how we decorate it.
I’ve shared many times the history behind my MacKenzie-Childs themed tree and how it came to be (here) – the first ornament I ever bought (a gumdrop with hand-painted black and white check); the tradition of going through the site to decide what ornament would be my addition each year; the gifts of ornaments from my parents and in-laws each holiday season.
Needless to say, it’s a huge part of our holiday tradition.
And even though we were in the middle of a major move (they needed photos of it by August in order to meet the deadline), I was willing to move heaven and earth to make it happen. Not kidding when I say our Christmas tree was the first piece of furniture we set up in the house…in August.
I’m so honored to have the opportunity to share our tree and the sweet stories behind it with the MacKenzie-Childs catalog subscribers. Particularly, because this year they brought back the gumdrop ornaments like the first one I ever bought almost ten years ago!
So if you see our tree in the catalog, do a little dance with us! And if you aren’t a catalog subscriber, be sure and sign up to receive the holiday catalog here before you miss it.
For me, MacKenzie-Childs is Christmas. I hope it brings a little joy to you, too.
