Our Christmas Tree Made the MacKenzie-Childs Catalog!

If you’ve been around for awhile, then you know that our Christmas tree is a bit of a tradition for me. When we buy it, when we put it up and, most importantly, how we decorate it.

I’ve shared many times the history behind my MacKenzie-Childs themed tree and how it came to be (here) – the first ornament I ever bought (a gumdrop with hand-painted black and white check);  the tradition of going through the site to decide what ornament would be my addition each year; the gifts of ornaments from my parents and in-laws each holiday season.

Needless to say, it’s a huge part of our holiday tradition.

So when MacKenzie-Childs asked to feature our tree in their holiday catalog this season, you could say I freaked a little bit. OK, so I freaked out a lot. Like a lot, a lot.

And even though we were in the middle of a major move (they needed photos of it by August in order to meet the deadline), I was willing to move heaven and earth to make it happen. Not kidding when I say our Christmas tree was the first piece of furniture we set up in the house…in August.

I’m so honored to have the opportunity to share our tree and the sweet stories behind it with the MacKenzie-Childs catalog subscribers. Particularly, because this year they brought back the gumdrop ornaments like the first one I ever bought almost ten years ago!

So if you see our tree in the catalog, do a little dance with us! And if you aren’t a catalog subscriber, be sure and sign up to receive the holiday catalog here before you miss it.

For me, MacKenzie-Childs is Christmas.  I hope it brings a little joy to you, too.

I’m equally as excited that MacKenzie-Childs has brought back the gumdrop ornaments. I have all of the original ones, bought many years ago. Our tree is also a MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check themed tree. I mix in other ornaments, but basically what shines is the MKC! I’m thrilled to see your tree, and find your blog. I’m off to read your story about the history of your tree. Yes, our Christmas tree and the ornaments we unpack year after year are very special and full of memories. I salute MacKenzie-Childs for featuring you and other bloggers in their catalogs. I’m a fan from the very beginnings of the brand, so it is exciting and exhilarating to see a new generation of collectors. Merry, Merry!
