Planning an outdoor space for the new house was hard, primarily because we went a more modern direction than I ever have on the inside. So when we started looking for furniture to put outside, I hit a creative wall.
Maybe it’s just me, but I had never noticed how all outdoor pieces looked the same until I actually, you know, started looking. As you can imagine if you’ve ever waded through the sea of iron sofas before, finding outdoor furniture that was both functional and fit the aesthetic of the rest of the house proved more than difficult.
The only real requirement I had was I knew we wanted more of a sitting area, since the patio was right off of the pool (it was raining the day we took these photos, so I’ll be sure and upload another set in a few weeks so you can see the whole backyard and what I mean). I had visions of lounging in the shade drinking mimosas while kids swam in my head… But outside of a comfortable space, I wasn’t sure what I wanted.
After much searching and too many trips to one big box store after another (seriously, it’s all the same), I was introduced to Stori Modern, an outdoor line founded by a fellow Dallasite! I knew the minute I saw the Novel collection that I had found what I needed – comfort and style in one.
If you aren’t familiar with the brand, I highly recommend following their Instagram (such cool inspo) and checking out how they style their pieces. With so little innovation in the outdoor space, I truly feel like I found a diamond in the rough.
I promise I’ll upload more images in a few weeks to better showcase how these pieces fit into our overall outdoor landscape, but I couldn’t wait to share them with you. They are honestly just too cool.
