A summer breeze may make you feel fine, but the summer sun makes me feel like lathering my skin in moisturizer and hiding next to an air conditioner for three months. Seriously though, I’m getting dehydrated just thinking about it. Which is why today, on the first of June, we are going to chat about moisturizers.
While there are tons of hydration options out there on the market, for a moisturizing creme to make my summer list it has to be both super hydrating while simultaneously light. Not exactly the easiest combination to come across, but here are three that I think do the summer hydrating thing right.
- La Mer Moisturizing Soft Lotion – Sure, you’ve heard all about Crème de La Mer and how amazing it is for your skin (they don’t call it Miracle Broth for nothing). But have you heard about La Mer’s Moisturizing Soft Lotion? It’s got the same potent concentration of the brand’s nutrient-rich Miracle Broth that’s in the Crème, only it’s a little lighter and softer in texture. Which, heading into the heat of summer, is a huge win, win.
- Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream – If you’ve got sensitive or super dry skin, this one is for you. Hell, if you just want to be the kind of person that puts on moisturizer and goes this summer, this one is for you. Seriously though, it’s an indulgent formula that is gently absorbed by your skin to leave it soft, supple and smooth – i.e., ready for the pool.
- Frank Body Everyday Face Moisturizer – The most affordable of the bunch, this lotion is rich in fatty acids, antioxidants and Vitamin E (cha, ching!) and is made with Shea and Cocoa butters to form a breathable, water resistant barrier that locks in the skin’s moisture. Sound like something you might need this summer? Thought so.
